William Knust Obituary

William “Bill” Edward Knust, 59, of Patoka, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at Deaconess Gibson Hospital in Princeton. He was born April 11, 1962 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois to proud parents, Lyman Edward Knust and Martha Ann (White) Earles. He spent his childhood helping his father on the farm and worked his teen years for F&M Lumber. Bill was fond of motorcycle racing and won a few Indiana State Championships. After graduating high school, he earned his associates degree at Vincennes University. He worked as a tool maker and design engineer for 38 years at Holzmeyer, recently known as RPM Tool. Bill kept a special place in his heart for animals and competition. He played pool in a league and didn’t play to lose. Bill was a good man, slow and meticulous like his father before him, and was very giving. He will be missed by all who loved him dearly.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Robin (Fitch) Knust of Patoka who he married on February 16, 2013. He is also survived by his mother, Martha Ann Earles of Princeton; children, Haylee Knust of Princeton, Dani Kermode of Owensboro, and Paige McIntire (Nathan) of Evansville; grandchildren, Kameron and Kolten McIntire; half-sister, Tara Knust; and step-siblings, Theresa Gendren (Don) of Owensville, Ray Earles (Amy) of Indianapolis, and Michelle Taylor (Mike) of Bloomington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyman Edward Knust; and grandparents, Gordon and Wilhelmine White and Pete and Pearl Knust.
