W. Jean Kirk, 96, of Edmond, Oklahoma, joined her husband Earl, her sisters and other family members on September 14, 2021. A life-long resident of Princeton, Indiana, Aunt Jean moved to Edmond to be near family, but she always let it be known she was an Indiana Hoosier.
Her work years were always as a secretary. She retired from Potter and Brumfield, a Siemens company in Princeton, Indiana, in 1985, and quickly became an avid golfer. She achieved every golfer’s dream by hitting a “Hole in One”—not once, but twice, on the same hole and 10 years apart! She traveled with family to Canada, Australia and points in between, camping, flying or cruising.
Jean collected Dachshund figurines—she had three real ones—and her precious Anna Lees. However, we all know her passion was tasting chocolates.
Aunt Jean is survived by her many friends; nieces, Patricia Current, Marilyn Miller, Suzanne Evers, Wini Wilkinson, Sue Catt and Barbara Crocket; nephews, “Chip” Thomas and James Lawrence; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
A graveside celebration of life will take place at 11:00 AM (Central Time) Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Shiloh Cemetery in Hazleton officiated by Pastor Justin Dyehouse.
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be given to the Riley Children’s Foundation located at 30 South Meridian Street, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204. Colvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kirk family.
