Thurman Scott Obituary

Thurman K. Scott, 95, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. He was born June 8, 1924 in Patoka to the late Kern and Edna (Ivey) Scott. Thurman served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Tower Heights Church of God in Princeton and he enjoyed his church, family, grandchildren, yardwork and gardening. He was a retired machinist for Bucyrus Erie.

Thurman is survived by his son, Michael Scott of Dale, IN; step children, Tammy Williams of Princeton, Larry Tice (Audrey) of Mt. Carmel, Gary Tice (Earlene) of O’Fallon, IL and Jerry Tice of Mt. Carmel; his twin brother, Therne Scott of Francisco and another brother, Roy Scott of Anderson, IN; 16 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Scott on March 15, 2011; a son, Mark Scott; a step son, Tom Tice; and brothers, Delbert and Charles Scott.

A funeral service will be held for immediate family only, Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Jonathan Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton with military rites by Retired Military Veterans. There will be no visitation due to the current gathering limitations imposed due to COVID-19.
