Thelma McDonald Obituary

Thelma L. McDonald, 87, of Evansville, formerly of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Good Samaritan Health Center in Evansville. She was born November 11, 1933 in Francisco to the late, Thomas and Minnie (Robling) Whitehead. She married Rev. Robert A. McDonald in 1951 and they were blessed with 67 years together before his passing in 2018. Thelma served beside her husband at Francisco Gospel Ministry Church for 60 years playing piano and helped with the books at the family gas station “McDonald-Sinclair Gas Station”. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Thelma is survived by her son, Michael McDonald; grandchildren, Hayden McDonald and Kimberly (McDonald) Winters; step-grandchildren, Lisa Stewart McEllhiney and Tracy Stewart Schlottman; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Smith and Kayden Smith; nieces and nephews, Steve Whitehead, Mayla Buckner, Kathy Little, Jay Brown, Ronald Houchins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kim McDonald; and siblings, Don Whitehead, Jim Whitehead, and Lois Grubb.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2020 at Francisco Cemetery in Francisco officiated by Reverend Jeff Bryant. Interment will follow. There will be no visitation. Social distancing and masks are recommended.
