Saundra Jane Winsted, age 78, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 20, 2022. Saundra was born January 23, 1944 in Winslow, Indiana. She married her high school sweetheart, Russell L. Campbell, on September 1, 1961. After Russ finished college at Oakland City, they moved to numerous towns throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota. They divorced several years later, and subsequently, she remarried Donald W. Hockett, a career army soldier. She spent many years living in different states and overseas. During her working years, she held many different jobs including office work at grocery, retail, and a court house. Additionally, she was a state prison correctional officer, loss prevention officer, librarian, mess hall service worker, cab dispatcher and driver, and tole art painter. She was happiest being a mother, wife, and grandmother. She divorced again in 2012 and moved in with her daughter’s family. Although she attended churches practically everywhere she lived, she always considered Ayrshire Valley General Baptist Church her home church, where her parents were very active. She was an avid reader, talented artist, and skilled flower gardener.
She reunites in Heaven with precious loved ones who have gone before her – parents, Charles Lloyd “Pete” and Pearl O. (Hurt) Winsted, her brother, Charles Earl Winsted, and her son, Russell “Kelly” Campbell.
Her survivors include her daughter, Robin (Jim) White, daughter-in-law, Angela (Pat) McCall; grandchildren Amy (Les) Smith, Brian Campbell, Shelby (Brandon) Phillips, and Lindsey White; great-grandchild, Tori Smith; sister-in-law, Bonnie Winsted (Spike Fitzgerald), three nieces, Marla (Mike) Woolsey, Melanie Winsted, Melynda (Bob) Waggoner; and several great-nephews, extended family and friends.
