Ronald Ray Green, Sr., 84, of Oakland City, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born November 11, 1937 in Gibson County to Claude and Celia (Newkirk) Green. He had lived in the East Gibson County area for many years and attended Christian Holiness Church. After retirement, he along with his wife and son owned and operated RR Bait & More in Oakland City. He enjoyed fishing and old cars.
Ronald is survived by his sons, Ronald Ray Green, Jr. (Brenda) of Petersburg and Rodney Ray Green of Oakland City; grandchildren, Claude Green (Tara), Ronald Green, Joshua Green, Brandy Ellerbruck, Ashley Ellerbruck, Devon Green (Amber), Michael Hammel (Linda), Anthony Hammel, Jamia Jones (Mike) and Angela Stevens (John); 40 great grandchildren; brother, Claude Green of Somerville; sister, Martha Graves of Frankfort; and son-in-law, Rick Smith of Oakland City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife whom he married on January 17,1959, Raydene (Smith) Green in 2020; daughter, Ramona (Green) Hammel; brothers, James, Denver, David, Daniel, Clarence, Ralph, Lansen, Mansen and Paul; and sisters, Esther Green, Mary McGillem, Ruth O’Neal and Martha Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Somerville Cemetery in Somerville with Pastor David Brandon officiating. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm on Tuesday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
