Pamela S. Johnson, 67, of Patoka, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at her home in rural Patoka. She was born in Gibson County on May 12,1954 to Edmond and Frances (Anderson) Harris.
She graduated from PCHS in 1972. She moved back to Patoka in 2004 from Indianapolis where she had lived for several years. She was a Phlebotomist with St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for 10 years. After moving back to Patoka she worked as a Teacher’s Aide in the Special Education Department in the North Gibson School Corporation. She was a member of the Charity Christian Center Church in Indianapolis and attended the Bunker Hill General Baptist Church in Vincennes. She sang in the church choir and was a Sunday School Superintendent. She loved being with people and enjoyed western movies.
She is survived by her son, Samuel Johnson (Stasha) of Evansville; mother, Frances Harris of Patoka; grandchildren, E’Vontaye, E’Javione, Sta’Vesha, Sa’Mareah and Sa’Mauren; siblings, Linda Agnew of Indianapolis, Eddie Harris of Patoka; Priscilla Davis of Noblesville, Leah Brackins of Reseda, CA, Ruth Ann Wallis and Crystal Ochoa of Escondido, CA, Christina Swanson of Patoka, Brenda Tyron of Terre Haute and Cynthia Ann Harris-Hunt of Connersville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Edmond; husband, Sammie Johnson, Sr. in 2015; and infant son, Sammie Johnson, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday December 3, 2021 at Bethel Memorial Church located at 1520 S. Main St. in Princeton with Rev. Kenneth Sullivan Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton and from 12 p.m. until the service time Friday at the church.
