Norman E “Gene” Speicher, 83, of Buckskin, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at home. He was born January 31, 1938 in Evansville to Norman J. and Pearl L. (Wilkison) Speicher. He graduated from Mackey High School where he played basketball and was a lifetime resident of Buckskin. He enjoyed being a truck driver for over 50 years and was well known by his C.B. handle, Spike Nail. He had also been a PTI Shuttle driver for the railroad. He was a member of St. Johns Church in Buckskin. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs and restoring antique tractors.
Gene is survived by his wife, Mary (Harmon) Speicher of Buckskin; children, Kim Lawton of Clermont, FL, Michael E Speicher of New York, McKayla Osbourne of Evansville, Ralph J. “Toby” Speicher of Franklin, IN, Chad Speicher of Oakland City and Stephanie King of Newburgh; stepchildren, Greg Allen of Buckskin, Jeff Allen of Mackey, Bryan Allen of Elberfeld, Jodi Tischendorf of Louisville, KY and Jeff Huebner of Princeton; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Pat Speicher in 1997; and sister, Pearl Bogan on April 26, 2021.
Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Buckskin.
