Mary Sampson Obituary

Mary Ann Sampson, 84, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Deaconess Gibson Hospital in Princeton. She was born October 27, 1936 in Evansville to the late, Fred Morell and Ruth (Kingsbury) Morell. She worked for 15 years at Hurst Manufacturing and was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the American Legion and VFW. Mary was a wonderfully artistic person and enjoyed oil painting. She loved nature, flowers, and animals. Her favorite hobbies were playing bingo and selling Avon. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed listening to music. She was loved dearly and will be missed.

Mary is survived by her husband, James Sampson of Princeton; daughters, Tina Bender (Tom) and Karla Scott (Ryan) of Princeton; grandchildren, Jewel Perdue (Nick), Jaiden Scott, Beth Ann Sampson, Hunter Sampson, and Kelsie Hiatt; great-grandchildren, Winry, Nicholaus, and Raiden Perdue; and brothers, Ronnie, Steven, Kenny Ray, and Freddy Morell.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy Sampson; and sister, Lois Montgomery.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.
