Joyce D. Berry

Joyce D. Berry, 92, of Patoka, IN was called home Saturday, July 18, 2026. She was born January 1, 1934 in Patoka, IN to James Henry Sloan and Eleanor (Smith) Sloan. Joyce was in the 1952 graduating class of Patoka High School. She married John Berry July 4, 1953 and was blessed with 71 years together before his passing on February 4, 2025. Joyce retired from Regions Bank, previously known as Patoka National Bank, after many years working as a bank teller. She attended First Baptist Church for 20 years and was a member of Patoka Methodist Church. Joyce enjoyed sewing and painting beautiful landscapes. She will also be remembered for her delicious baked treats, especially her cinnamon swirl bread. Joyce had such a big heart and truly took care of everyone. She was loved and is already deeply missed.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Berry; and brother, Donald Sloan.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Berry (Janice) of Patoka, David Berry (Diana) of Patoka, Jim Berry of Evansville, and Mark Berry (Stephanie) of Patoka; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 24, 2026 at Decker Cemetery in Princeton with Pastor Ricky Simpson officiating.
