Jennie Carolyn Stilwell

Jennie Carolyn Stilwell, 85, of Oakland City, IN was called home Wednesday, March 4, 2026. She was born October 22, 1940 in Oakland City, IN to Charles Thomas Kays Sr. and Mildred (Duncan) Kays. Jennie married Albert Stilwell April 9, 1962 and was blessed with 23 years of marriage before his passing on April 20, 1985. She worked has a housekeeper for many years before helping care for the elderly. Jennie was a member of Forsythe United Methodist Church, where she proudly cooked and made pies for church dinners. She will be remembered as a hardworking and caring mom, grandma, and sister. Jennie is loved deeply by many and is already missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Stilwell; brother, Charles Kays Jr.; and brother-in-law, Alvin Schumacher.

Jennie is survived by her son, Brian (Laura) Stilwell; grandchildren, Jake (Maysa) Stilwell, Abigail Stilwell, and James Stilwell; and sister Linda Schumacher.

A graveside service will be held 11 AM CST Monday, March 9, 2026 at Forsythe Cemetery in Oakland City with Pastor Matt Malin and Rev. Marianne Hawkins officiating.
