Gary K. Hurt, of Princeton passed away Friday, May 28, 2021. He was born September 16, 1938 in Owensville, to Jake and Norene (Stevens) Hurt.
Gary retired from Whirlpool in Evansville in 1998, where he worked for 35 years as an assembler. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2714 in Ft. Branch. He was a Sulky horse racer for many years which was his passion. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, spending time with his family especially with his brothers going hunting and fishing and getting together with family for meals and cookouts.
He is survived by his son, Brian Hurt of Patoka; brother, Mike Hurt of CA; sister, Sandra Wilson of Ft. Branch; special friend, Sharon Garrett of Princeton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mildred Hurt, December 25, 2014; brothers, Eugene, Bill, Larry, Steve, Tom and Danny Hurt; sister, Sally East.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Fr. Gary Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be provided by Retired Military Veterans.
