Donetta Harvey, 86, of Petersburg, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 19, 1934 in Pike County to the late Marion and Verna (Woods) Falls and had lived in this area most of her lifetime. She attended Little's General Baptist Church. Donetta loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she was loved by them dearly, always being there for her grandchildren, and she will be missed beyond measure. She enjoyed gardening, canning and most especially family meals, with her doing all of the preparation.
Donetta is survived by her daughter, Donna K. Charles of Petersburg; a daughter-in-law, Jimmi Sue Harvey of Petersburg; 5 grandchildren, Dana (Jerry) Blackwell, Andrea (Kyle) McCutchan, Leah (Chris) Blair, Cassie McDowell and Keri Harvey; 8 great grandchildren; and also, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Wayne Harvey on January 28, 2007; her son-in-law, Mark Charles on June 16, 2019; her son, David Scott Harvey on January 10, 2020; and 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm (CST) Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Pastor Jerry Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow at Knights Chapel Cemetery near Glezen. A walk-through visitation will be held from 11 am until 1 pm (CST) Saturday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the number of people allowed inside the funeral home will be limited to allow for social distancing and masks are required.
