Corrine (Helms Kelley) Schwartz

Corrine (Helms-Kelley) Schwartz, 99, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home. She was born October 7, 1921 in Cushman, Arkansas to the late May Helms and Opal (Killian) Harris. She lived in the Francisco area until 1967, then in Princeton until 1988 while she worked at Potter and Brumfield/Siemens for 40 years and retired to Evansville. She attended Centenary United Methodist Church in Evansville and will be dearly missed by those who knew her.  

Corrine is survived by her daughters, Shirley Woods of Evansville and Connie Burchard of Evansville; step-children, Glenn Schwartz and Janet Brown; grandchildren, James Woods (Beatrice), David Woods (Mary Jane), and Jason Burchard (Donja); great-grandchildren, Jesse Woods, Ethan Woods, Zachary Woods, Cameron Burchard, and Silas Burchard; and siblings, Betty Pogue and Harvey Helms.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Schwartz in 1978; and siblings, Wanda Joyce, Walter H. Kelley, Zela Mae Hall, and Ruddine Bell.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in St. Francisville, Illinois officiated by Pastor Tim Powers. Interment will follow. A walk-through visitation will be held from 9 until 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Due to state mandated Covid-19 restrictions, there is a maximum capacity of 25 people for any gathering, facial coverings and social distancing are required.

The family would like to extend much gratitude to the hospice care Corrine received and to her special caregivers, Lena Clopton, Tiffany Anderson, and Mary Jane Woods.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Centenary United Methodist Church located at14340 Old State Rd, Evansville, IN 47725 or to Deaconess Hospice located at 611 Harriett St, Evansville, IN 47710.
