Connie Phillips Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Connie L. Phillips, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, who left us on February 12, 2026, in Ocala, Florida. Born on November 6, 1944, in Princeton, Indiana, Connie touched the lives of many with her grace, generosity, and unwavering spirit.

A proud graduate of Princeton High School in 1962, Connie went on to Indiana State University, where she completed her studies in 1966. Her career in the banking industry was marked by her unyielding dedication and strong work ethic, qualities that earned her the respect of her colleagues and clients alike.

Connie's life was a testament to kindness and loyalty. She was known for her nurturing demeanor and her ability to see the beauty in life’s little moments. Her generous spirit led her to volunteer at the library bookstore after retirement, where she rediscovered her love for reading and shared that passion with others in her community. Connie also took great joy in assisting her husband, James, with the display of his beloved ice cream collection, always approaching their shared interests with enthusiasm and creativity.

An artist at heart, Connie spent many delightful hours engaged in various art forms, including stained glass creation, embroidery, and other artwork. Her hands crafted beauty, but it was her heart that created warmth and connection with all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her parents: Edwin and Virginia Cooper, two brothers: Terry and Michael Cooper.

Connie leaves behind her beloved husband, James Phillips, her brother Gary Cooper and his wife, Mary, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. She has left a legacy of love—an enduring bond that will continue to inspire her family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Connie's life was held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, located at 910 East Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL, on February 18, 2026, at 6 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Colvin Funeral Home. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Connie’s kindness are welcome to join us as we honor her memory. A burial will take place at a later date at Mauck Cemetery.

As we reflect on her life, let us remember Connie for her extraordinary spirit, her artistic talents, and the kindness she shared with so many. She will be deeply missed but always remembered in our hearts.
