Bonita "Bonnie" Potts

Bonita “Bonnie” Potts, 81, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 17, 1939 in Princeton and was a lifetime resident, graduated from Princeton High School in the class of 1957 and retired in 1997 from the North Gibson School Corporation working in the nurse’s office.

Bonnie was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Princeton, serving where she was needed, was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a past worthy matron, for several years she was very active with the Rainbow Girls and enjoyed being a member of the “Bunco Babes”. Most recently she was very involved in many activities at RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton.

Bonnie is survived by a son, Jeff Potts of Princeton; a daughter, Dede Russell (Kevin) of Patoka; also, 5 grandchildren, Brady and Kaycee Russell, Mollie, Ariel and Emma Potts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Herrin Jr. and Emma (Pavey) Herrin; her husband, William “Bill” Potts in 2018 and 3 siblings, Willard and Jerry Young and Sandra Silkey.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Vanlal Hruaia officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm Wednesday, June 2nd at the funeral home.
