Betty (Zimmerman) Jones

Betty Jones, 90, of Morganfield, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Breckinridge Place Retirement Community in Morganfield. She was born in Paducah, Kentucky to Gerald and Thelma (Howell) Zimmerman on April 20, 1930 and worked as an inspector for Potter and Brumfield for 30 years. She spent most of her life in Oakland City before retiring to Morganfield and enjoyed being a member of First General Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and a good mother who was dearly loved and will be missed without measure.  

Betty is survived by her children, Mark (Elesa) Jones of Sturgis, Kentucky and Cindy Larue of Henderson, Kentucky; grandson, Blake (Danika) Jones; and step-grandchildren, Monty (Tellie) Carter and Roger (Bobbie) Carter.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan Jones; and siblings, Doris Willis, Geraldine Woolsey, and Jerry Zimmerman.  

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM (CST) Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City officiated by Pastor Alec Hensley. There will be no visitation and family and friends are welcome to meet at the cemetery.
