Barbara Armstrong Obituary

Barbara Ann Armstrong (“sassy little fireball”), 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at home. She was born on September 2, 1941 in Knoxville, TN to Beecher Burton, Jr. and Katherine Virginia (Rigsby) Brown. She had lived in Patoka since 1991 moving from Virginia. She was a homemaker and had her own way of doing things. She loved spending time with family, gardening, cooking, reading and watching hummingbirds.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Howard Lee Armstrong of Patoka; children, Sam Wesley Humphrey (Maria Yulidsa Zuniga Chavez) of Patoka, Katherine Marie Sanderson (James Vincent) of Cosby, TN, Misty Lynn Humphrey (Janet Kimberly Fahrni) of Wasilla, Alaska, Ingrid Rosemarie Robinson (George) of Fort Branch and Sharon Elisabeth Armstrong (Bob Toth) of Fort Branch; siblings, Sonny Brown, Tommy Brown, Linda Yarbrough, Danny Brown, Ronnie Brown, Debbie Thompson and Johnny Brown; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randall Armstrong; grandson, Jordan Armstrong; brothers, Larry, Terry and Teddy Brown; and sister, Nancy Blackmon.

No visitation or service will be held at this time. There will be a service at a later date. Colvin Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
