William F. Jones

William F. Jones, 83, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. He was born on March 9, 1935 in Oakland City, Indiana to parents, Curran W. & Shippie (Arnold) Jones. He was raised and grew up in Sullivan, Indiana where he graduated High School.

William proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. He worked as a crane operator in construction until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181, Elks Club, Eagles Club, and the American Legion. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

William was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Wade Jones; and siblings, Sanders J. Jones, Mary J. Carter, Curran W. Jones, Jr., and Beatrice L. Jones.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Janet Jones of Princeton; daughter, Christine Campbell of Fort Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Scott Jones (Valerie) of Princeton; granddaughter, Keela Stevens (Brit) of Princeton; grandsons, Christopher Campbell of Fort Branch and David Jones of Princeton; great-granddaughter, Marley Stevens of Princeton; special friend, Jenny Horath of Patoka; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside funeral service will be held in Sullivan, Indiana. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Francisco United Methodist Church in loving memory of William Jones. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Colvin Funeral Home of Princeton is honored to serve the Jones family.
