Verline Jeanette “Jenny” Schenk, 84, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at The Waters of Princeton. She was born April 17, 1935 in Geneva County, Alabama to parents, Alto Sawyer and Eunice (Odom) Sawyer. She was the first female cross county trucker and enjoyed her work for 55 years. She also enjoyed sewing, fishing, and boating. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Randy) Fuhrman and Tim Figgins; daughter-in-law, Karen Figgins; 2 sisters, Betty (Mark) Thomas and Diana (Calvin) Molding; 6 grandchildren, Mary, Kendra, David, Bob, Debra Jean, and Trisha; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Schenk; son, Richard Figgins; grandson, Jonathon Fuhrman; and siblings, Shirley Deadwyler, Howard Sawyer, and Clayton Sawyer.
A private service will be held at a later date in California.
