Shirley A. Caniff, 80 passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at Transcendent Healthcare in Owensville. She was born in Owensville, IN, Feb. 17, 1937 to Harold and Gladys (Whiting) Mounts. Shirley worked for JC Penny’s in Princeton for many years and then worked in the cafeteria at the former Princeton Community High School. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1955. She enjoyed her grandchildren calling them “her sweet angels”. She played lady softball for a few years and enjoyed waterskiing, camping and was a member of the Evansville Water Ski Club. She enjoyed attending car shows and showing cars with her husband Jack. She was a member of the former St. Marks United Methodist Church, member of the Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary, Eastern Star and a life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jack Caniff of Princeton; daughter, Jackie Caniff Mason (Scott) of Princeton; son Kevin Caniff, Princeton; 6 grandchildren Shaun Grabbe (Matt), Casie Mason, Jordan Caniff, Kellie Caniff Bruce (Josh), Taylor and Tristen Caniff; 4 great grandchildren Collin and Cheaney Grabbe, Brynley and Briggs Bruce; brother-in-law, Paul Morrison.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wanda Morrison; brothers, Donald and James Mounts and Robert Whiting.

Funeral service will 1 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Julie Mounts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blythe Chapel Cemetery near Owensville. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
