Richard “Dick” Byrns Mason, 92, of Princeton, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville. He was born in Gibson County, March 15, 1927 to late Richard U. and Deliah Alma (Byrns) Mason and had resided here most of his lifetime. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Dick retired from Alcoa Warrick Operations and was a member of Bethlehem General Baptist Church near Fort Branch.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Callis Mason of Princeton; 3 children, Peggy Sims of Fort Branch, Vicky Holcomb (Charles) of Princeton and Scott Mason (Alicia) of Princeton; 2 brothers, Ralph Mason of Ohio and Jim Mason of Princeton; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce (Reed) Mason.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Fort Branch, with military rites by Retired Military Veterans. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 7th at Colvin Funeral Home.
