Rev. Joe W. Hollen, 80, of English, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at his home in English. He was born on December 25, 1938 in Gibson County, IN to Porter E. & Myrtle (Coomer) Hollen. He lived in English since 2002. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1962. Rev. Hollen was a member of the Indiana United Methodist Conference. He was a minister most of his adult life. He served at New Butler & Atkinson Chapel from 1966-1967, Francisco General Baptist Church from 1967-1969, Whitcomb United Methodist from 1969-1972, New Castle Christian Church from 1972-1976, Richmond Trinity from 1976-1979, Terre Haute Grace Church from 1979-1986, St. James West in Evansville from 1986-1994 and Indianapolis Good Shephard Methodist from 1994-2002. He retired the first time in 2002 and then went to the Whitcliff United Methodist Church in 2004 until final retirement in June 2019.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca (Hollen) Finke of English, IN, Deborah A. (Hollen) Johnson of English, IN and William Hollen (Debra) of Worthington, IN; 6 grandchildren, Charity Melton Frazier, Susanne Elizabeth Alyward, Jamie Joe Johnson, Megan Smith, Jacob Hollen and Donna Kathryn Harrison; 14 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Peggy Schaber and Donna Helsley both of Elwood, IN; sister-in-law, Sue Hollen of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susanne Hollen in 2016; sister, Maxine Skinner; and brother, John Hollen.

Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4:30 until 8 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home.
