Mary Alice (Woods) Whitehead

Mary Alice Whitehead, 90, formerly of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Helia Healthcare of Benton, Illinois. She was born October 17, 1928 in Princeton to parents, Arnett Woods and Esther (Ransford) Woods. She married Bobby Joe Whitehead on June 27, 1947 and they have been blessed with 72 years together. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and making the lives of the people around her happier. She was a great mother and grandmother and will be missed by all.

Mary is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Whitehead; children, Jerry (Marcia) Whitehead, Vickie (Ralph) Connor, Becky Benjamin, and Cathy (Billy) Smith; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; 1 brother; and many special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Tammy and Trudy; son-in-law, Dick Benjamin; and grandson, Ty Benjamin.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, October 4, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Pastor Jack Gatson. Burial will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until service time, 12:00 Noon Friday, October 4, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
