Marion Lee Peregrine, 96 of Shoals passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City, IN. He was born September 17, 1922 in Rhinelander, WI, to Chase and Bertha Mae (Morris) Peregrine.
Marion had lived in Shoals for the past 20 years moving there from Florida. He retired from the maintenance department at the Charlotte County School system in Florida where he had worked for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1942 to 1945 during W.W.II. During his enlistment he received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star.
He was a talented carpenter, cabinet maker and locksmith. He met his wife Margaret while installing cabinets in her home. They enjoyed traveling. He loved just spending time with her, taking walks enjoying the outdoors and nature, and watching birds and butterflies.
Marion is survived by his wife, Margaret Peregrine of Shoals, whom he married May 31, 1980; daughter, Linda Pearl Peregrine of San Antonio, TX; son, Larry Earl Peregrine of Lillie, LA; step-children, Melody Vaal of Santa Claus, Daniel Showalter and Joy Adams of Shoals; 2 grandchildren, Lesa Wilson and Carolyn Fauver; 4 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Ann (Higgs) Peregrine in 1975; grandson, Myron Peregrine; siblings, Mildred, Oral, James, Maryl and Mary Lou.
There will be no visitation or service; the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is honored to be assisting the family with the final arrangements.
