James L. Sampson Jr., 53, of Fort Branch, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born December 16, 1965 in Princeton and had resided in Fort Branch for the past 4 ½ years, coming from Princeton. He was a graduate of Princeton Community High School, class of 1984. He was formerly employed for many years with AmeriQual Foods near Evansville.
James is survived by his wife, Debbie (Coomer) Sampson of Fort Branch; 3 children, Kelsie Hiatt (Jacob) of Mt. Carmel, IL and Hunter and Beth Sampson both at home; parents, James L. Sampson Sr. and Mary Ann (Morrell) Sampson of Princeton; 2 sisters, Tina Bender of Patoka and Karla Scott (Ryan) of Princeton.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Darrin Deal officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Fort Branch. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, July 18th at Colvin Funeral Home.
