James R. Henson Sr., 80, of Petersburg passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Glezen on March 23, 1938 to Charles and Ada (Hillborn) Henson.
Jim was self-employed; he owned and operated J. & J. Alarm in the Chicago area. He served in the U.S. Army during the Suez Cannel conflict. He had lived in Petersburg since October of 2016 moving there from Chicago. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Jim is survived by his children, Henry Roberson of Cartersville, GA, James Henson Jr. of Chicago, Heather Henson of Coushatta, LA and Nicole Ambrose of Mountain Home, AR; brothers and sisters, Larry Henson, Alberta Hume, Russell Henson, Betty Llamas, Doris Nevill, Raymond Mills, Linda Dent and Brenda Grubb; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 4 brothers.
There will be no services at this time. The Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements.
