Jack Elliott Poole, 81, of Petersburg, entered rest on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at his home. He was born on February 24, 1938 in Woodleaf, North Carolina to Bynum and Virginia (Morgan) Poole. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the First Church of God in Petersburg.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn (Henson) Pool; one son, Robert Scott (Cindy) Pool of Evansville; one daughter, Michelle (Jim) Miley of Petersburg; one sister, Ann Weatherford of Salisbury, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Donald Poole and one sister, Betty Poole Cranford.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday (Pike County time), January 8, 2020 at Corn Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with Reverend Don Fausnaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Petersburg. Military graveside services will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans. A visitation will be held from 12 until service time, 2:00 PM (Pike County time) at the funeral home.
