Fredia McClintock Obituary

Fredia Mae McClintock, 80, of Princeton, Indiana took her first breath in glory on March 7th 2019 at 4 a.m.  Her daughters, Sue and Cindy and granddaughter, Brandi remained at her side as she took her last breath here. Fredia was born into humble beginnings January 3rd 1939 in Benton, Illinois where she was one of twelve children. At the tender age of 15, she was walking down the street when she caught the eye of a young Korean War veteran named Denzyle McClintock and within 3 months he made her his wife.   From their union three children were born.

Freida’s favorite pastimes were spending time with her children and grandchildren, and reading her Bible. She taught her family about the love of a forgiving merciful God and the power of prayer. Fredia believed that the effective fervent prayer of a righteous woman availed much and was a devoted prayer warrior. She moved to Princeton to be with her family in 2003 and became a member of Oasis Assembly of God soon after. She was known for her homemade apple pie that she made only at Christmas and was a foster grandmother at ARC. Fredia has spent the last several years living with her daughter, Cindy and loving her “furbabies”, Scarlet and Riot who were dedicated to protecting her and sitting in her lap. This often caused her children to laugh as Fredia did not like dogs when her girls were at home and would never allow an animal into her home.

Fredia is survived by her daughters, Sue and Bruce Gipson and Cindy Racey; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; many siblings; and her infant son, Denzyle “Buddy” Allen McClintock.

Funeral service will be at 3:30 PM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton with Pastor Mike Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. Visitation will be held from 2:30 until 3:30 PM at the church.
