Madalyn Mitchem Obituary

Madalyn Gay (Smith) Mitchem of Princeton, was born on October 29th, 1952, and left us on March 8th, 2024. She was the daughter of Zeke R. and Betty (Dorsey) Smith.

Maddy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Art Mitchem. She leaves behind her siblings, Cindy (Phil) Hofman, Scott (Karen) Smith, Craig (Jancey) Smith and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Hillside Methodist Church.

For many years, Maddy was the school nurse at the East Gibson School Corporation. There she made an impression on many students, especially in her Health Occupation Class.

Maddy Gay enjoyed books, gardening, and pets and like other members of the Smith family, she loved music. Her talents led her to be in band, choir, and other clubs and organizations in the community.

She was a unique ray of sunshine that will be greatly missed.
