Gloria Jines Obituary

Gloria J. Jines, 95, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born to the late Marion and Opal Carson on January 7, 1929. She was a 1947 graduate of Princeton High School and she married Robert J. “Bob” Jines and they enjoyed 74 ½ years together until his passing in 2020. Gloria retired from the Gibson County Clerk’s Office, after serving there for over 20 years. She loved her family and will be deeply missed. She was a life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Gloria is survived by her children, Gary Jines (Laurie) and R.J. Jines (Joy); a son-in-law, Mike Riley; grandchildren, Brian Riley (Angie), Beth Petit (Lance), Courtney Clutter (Jason), Kim Schmitt (Jarred), Adam Jines (Megan), Eric Jines (Brittney), Trace Jines (Karley); great grandchildren, Logan and Brynn Riley, Brady and Dru Petit, Jaron and Jaxon Clutter, Leyton Schmitt, Rowan, Atley and Maelynn Jines, Rhett and Berkeley Jines, Parker and Bradie Thompson, Griffin and Lenna Jines; and also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda M. (Jines) Riley in 2008.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the caring and compassion shown by the staff of RiverOaks Health Campus and Intrepid Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton, with Pastor Steve Akins officiating. Interment will follow the service. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm on Monday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
